Hello everyone!

It's a question I hear all the time in the shop: "Lydie, what's the difference between flare and slim jeans? And most importantly, which one is right for me?"

The world of denim can feel like a jungle, I'll grant you that! The resurgence of "vintage" cuts like flares makes us question our basics. The good news? There's no such thing as a "good" or "bad" cut. There's only the right pair of jeans that will make you feel amazing.

So, to help you get a clearer picture, I've prepared a little guide. Shall we have a Flare vs. Slim showdown?

## The Jean Flare: The Ally of Infinite Legs

We've seen it everywhere: flare jeans are the big winner of recent seasons' trends. Inspired by the 70s, they're synonymous with a bohemian-chic look and a wild style.

Its cut: It's fitted at the hips and thighs, then flares out generously from the knee. It's almost always high-waisted, and that's where its magic lies.

For whom?

The flare is a true silhouette-creator. I particularly recommend it if:

  • Want to lengthen your legs? The "infinite legs" effect is immediate! That's its superpower.

  • If you have hips (A, X or 8 shape): The flared bottom perfectly balances the width of your hips, creating a very harmonious hourglass silhouette.

  • You like bold looks: It instantly adds character to a simple t-shirt.

Lydie's Style Advice:

The secret to flared pants is that they should be long . They should break over the shoe. They look stunning with heeled ankle boots, wedge sandals, or platform sneakers. For the top, opt for a fitted top, a tucked-in blouse, or a cropped sweater to accentuate the waist.

## Slim Jeans: The Timeless Second Skin

It's been a staple for the last fifteen years, and it's not going anywhere anytime soon! Slim jeans (not to be confused with skinny jeans, which are even tighter) are the "second skin" jeans that hug the curves.

Its cut: It is fitted from the hips to the ankles, without being as tight as leggings.

For whom?

Contrary to popular belief, slim-fit jeans suit almost everyone! It's mainly a question of balance with the top. I recommend them if:

  • If you like rock and modern looks: This is the perfect match for a leather jacket and biker boots.

  • Looking for practicality? These are the only jeans that can be easily tucked into high boots in winter!

  • You like to show off your legs: It follows them without excessively molding them.

  • If you like "oversized" tops: It's perfect for balancing a chunky knit sweater or a loose blazer.

Lydie's Style Advice:

Slim jeans are the chameleon. They work just as well with sneakers for a weekend look as they do with heels for an evening out. In winter, we love them with boots and a chunky oversized knit. It's guaranteed comfort and style.

Our perfect slim fit:

  • THE Jean Slim Brut "Tom" The slim-fit jeans with a raw wash, an absolute basic, both stretchy and comfortable.

So, Flare or Slim: The Verdict?

As you've probably guessed, there's no winner!

  • Choose a FLARE to elongate your silhouette and for a bold, trendy look.

  • Choose a SLIM for a basic "second skin", practical and perfect for balancing voluminous tops.

My real advice? The best jeans are the ones that make you feel beautiful and, above all, like yourself. And there's nothing stopping you from having both in your wardrobe!
